Ebony Rosemond, Playwright
As a playwright, I simply did not have a novel writing process. Consequently, trying to be a novelist all alone was extremely frustrating. I loved the characters and what they were saying and doing - but on the written page, without dialogue and scene directions the novel just wasn’t working. I asked friends and fellow writers to read it and their feedback wasn’t helpful - they couldn’t get into the book. Story Therapy took my novel in with a sincere desire to make it the best possible work of literature it could be. Taylor read it, and re-read it, to truly understand what I was trying to communicate. We spoke frequently about my goals for the book as well as my writing process. She guided me to the realization that I am a playwright at heart. And the novel would work best as a collection of short vignettes. Then, she helped me embrace my voice as a playwright and (finally!) create an enjoyable reading experience. Thanks to Story Therapy I have a completed book - written in my authentic style - that I am proud of. Best of all I’m able to give those who love my plays, as well as new readers, a new work of art. I highly recommend Story Therapy to writers who are exploring a new genre but want to retain their true voice.

I first used Story Therapy for an article I was writing. It was my very first published piece so before sending my draft to the publication's editor, I reached out to Story Therapy for a general review. As a result I received not only suggestions to make my piece stronger, but also affirmation that helped fortify my confidence as a writer. If you need a service that will examine your writing while offering you encouragement along the way, I recommend Story Therapy!

Alexis Whitaker, Researcher, Model
Deciding to write with Story Therapy was one of the best decisions I made during my grad school application process. I sought assistance with organization and making my personal statement efficient and succinct, fitting years of experience and interest into 2 pages. Story Therapy was able to immediately identify my needs and suddenly my piece wasn’t as intimidating as it was before. We took time to sit with the work and collaborate on the flow of the piece in a way that would be powerful yet succinct, in order to satisfy the 2 page requirement. Story Therapy exceeded my expectations by affirming my work as well as providing suggestions for additional pieces to enrich my piece further. Thanks to Story Therapy I was not only able to meet the deadline for my grad school applications with peace and confidence in my work, but I was also able to further educate myself through conducting additional research on my topic of interest. Working with Story Therapy was a seamless and rewarding process where I completed the task at hand but left feeling more hopeful and confident in my journey as a researcher, writer, and future clinician.

Before I worked with Taylor, I had never written more than 10 pages for any one script. While working with her recently, I can say that I wrote a record 27 pages. The topics just flow, she doesn’t impose her will, but asks you the necessary questions to better feel out your world and characters. 10/10 recommend.
